Ground Beef Update

Soooo.... I ended up making my fist ever meatloaf (with carrots, celery, and onions) and my first ever Shepherd's Pie, or cottage pie, (with garlic, and mixed veggies). Both were really good and I even made an extra meatloaf to freeze so that I wouldn't have to make dinner two nights the following week.

One of the best feelings is saving money, eating healthy, and not having to make dinner every night because I have some amazing frozen dinners already made :)

What do you like to make and freeze to eat at a later date?

Amazon Mom

Another fun way to save money and never have to leave your house to buy diapers again!

If you sign up for Amazon Mom and also get subscribe and save, you save money, get it delivered to your house sometimes the next day (for free), and not have to deal with those big box stores just to get a large box and a good price!
I just got my little one 228 diapers for only $24.88. (That's about 11 cents/diaper!)

Thanksgiving!

Here is a poem that I found and LOVE because it is a good reminder of what we are blessed with!

I am thankful for...
...the mess to clean up after a party
because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
...the taxes I pay
because it means that I'm employed.
...the clothes that fit a little too snug
because it means I have enough to eat.
...the child who is not cleaning his room, but is watching TV
because that means he is at home and not on the streets.
...the spot I find at the far end of the parking lot
because it means I am capable of walking.
...all the complaining I hear about our government
because it means we have freedom of speech.
...that lady behind me in synagogue who sings off key
because it means that I can hear.
...lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing
because it means I have a home.
...my huge heating bill
because it means that I am warm.
...weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day
because it means that I have been productive.
...the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours
because it means that I am alive.
...Finally, for too much email
because it means that I have friends and family who are thinking of me.

Coupon Clipping Mom?

I didn't think I could call myself a true "money saving" momma unless I started using coupons(and it's a good way to save money). My biggest deterrent to using coupons was that I didn't get the Sunday paper that has the coupons.... no more excuses!

I am officially signed up to get the Sunday Paper and all the coupony goodness that comes along with it. I am excited to start this Sunday saving money and then recycling the paper.

While signing up online at LATimes.com I noticed a spot for a coupon code. So I did a little searching and found an amazing code that I promptly attempted to use. Sometimes coupon codes that people post online no longer work or never worked, but I was happy to discover that this code did!

LATimes Sunday subscription for a year:
Discounted Price: $1/week (33% off the newsstand price)

I payed only $9.88 for a whole year! That's only 19cents/ week!

Code:

MMMM! Chili

My husband and I just finished off the batch of chili that we made over two weeks ago for a chili cook-off! I love making huge batches of chili and then portioning the leftovers out in freezer bags to freeze for a later date. Awesome way to save money and time :)

This time my husband made chili with white wine, fresh veggies, bacon, turkey, and a whole lotta other goodness...

Diapers.com Order

Being a stay at home mom gives me a lot of motivation to save money! My husband is amazing and doesn't care if I spend money, but I figure my new job is to save us money in as many ways as I can.

One way is by getting the best possible deal on diapers. I recently made this purchase:

QtyDescriptionItem PriceDiscountSubtotalEstimated Delivery
1Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers Giant Case 2 144ct.$34.99$31.97$3.02Monday, November 01
1Dreft HE Liquid 2x Concentrated Laundry Detergent - 50 oz$10.09$0.00$10.09Monday, November 01
1Pampers Swaddlers Diapers Jumbo Pack Size 2-3 30ct.$11.29$8.03$3.26Monday, November 01
1Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Wipes Refill 350ct.$15.99$0.00$15.99Monday, November 01
Subtotal: $32.36
Shipping fee: $0

Manu. Coupon: $7.00
Total: $25.36

I should have payed $72. 86 for this order, but ended up saving $27! Here is how I did it:

I purchased a buy $40 worth of diapers for $20 on a daily deal website, I also sent in manufacture coupons to diapers.com (it's really easy to do) and then looked for other items that had e-coupons on the site.

Love saving money :)

Fun Money Saving Sites

There are so many daily deal sites, but these are just a few that I love and look at almost daily:
http://babysteals.com/
http://woot.com/
http://kidsteals.com/
http://mamabargains.com/
http://www.greenbabybargains.com

Like I said, there are so many more, but these are some of the best ones I have found. The only problem with these sites is that when really good deals pop up, they are sold out quick! Happy bargain hunting :)

Becoming a Milk Wagon

At the age of 20 I became a wife to the most amazing husband anyone could ask for. DH is kind, patient, and able to handle me as a wife! We wanted to wait to have kids in order to finish school, pay off debt, travel around the world, and just be a family of two before adding one more change to our lives forever.

Last year we made the decision...it was time to start trying to get pregnant. The goalie (birth control) went away and a few weeks later we had our LO (little one) cooking!

Now LO is almost 4 months and I feel like time is flying waayyy too fast so I decided to start a blog to record events, share stories, and hope that whoever reads this can be encouraged :)
